Loft clearance in Surrey — what to expect
Clearing a loft in Surrey? Here's how a clearance works, what we take, and load-based pricing from £189.
Lofts accumulate things slowly and get cleared suddenly — usually when a conversion is planned, when a house is going on the market, or when years of stored items finally tip the scales. Whatever the reason, a clearance service takes the heavy lifting out of it.
What a loft clearance involves
The basics are straightforward: we bring the van, you show us what’s going, and we carry it down and load it. You don’t need to have everything bagged or sorted in advance.
If some things are staying and some are going, let us know beforehand — we’ll work around what you want to keep.
Clearing for a loft conversion
A lot of loft clearances happen because a conversion is in the pipeline. Builders typically want the space empty before structural work begins. If you’re working to a contractor’s schedule, it’s worth booking the clearance early so nothing delays the start date.
What we take from lofts
Most of what ends up in a loft is straightforward to clear: old furniture, suitcases, boxes of books and clothes, toys, sports equipment, electrical items, and general clutter.
We can’t take asbestos. Some older Surrey properties — particularly those built before the 1980s — have asbestos-containing materials in the roof space, such as insulation boards or pipe lagging. If you suspect anything is present, stop and arrange a survey first. The Health and Safety Executive’s asbestos guidance sets out what to look for and how to arrange specialist removal. We can clear the rest once that’s sorted.
How pricing works
We price by the load, not by the hour:
- Quarter load — from £189. A lighter loft with a modest amount of stored items.
- Half load — from £329. A typical loft with boxes, furniture, and accumulated clutter.
- Full load — from £449. A well-stocked or large loft, or a loft clearance alongside a broader house clearance.
Not sure which size fits? Send us a description or a few photos — we’ll give you an honest estimate before booking.
We’re a licensed waste carrier
We hold Environment Agency waste carrier licence CBDU619794. Every load goes to a licensed transfer station, and we provide a waste transfer note on request. You can verify our licence on the EA public register.
